HP/Hewlett Packard 5518A Laser Head

This 5518A laser from 1993 is in excellent functional condition with measured output power when locked (READY solid) of more than 425 µW after warmup, which is probably close to the new value. It starts instantly, runs reliably, and locks normally with a clean REF signal of about 1.9 MHz. It has been tested in a monitored interferometer setup for over 12 hours.

As can be seen, it is also in good cosmetic condition with a few scratches and dings from normal use.

The 5518A will also work in any application requiring a 5517A.

Since lasers such as the HP-5518A may be used in demanding aplications, the following 90 day warranty shall apply:

First 10 days: If the laser fails to meet HP specifications for the 5518A, buyer may opt for 100 percent refund, free repair, or replacement (if available). The laser may be returned for any other reason including that the case color doesn't match your decor for a 90 percent refund.
Next 80 days: If the laser fails to meet HP specifications for the 5518A, free repair or replacement will be provided, or 75 percent refund of purchase price if repair or replacement is not possible.
The warranty may be extended to 180 days for $250 extra.

After 90/180 days, repair will be available on a time/materials basis.

Warranty void if failure resulted from improper installation, incorrect power wiring or voltages, lack of cooling, physical shock, being run over by a 10 ton truck, dropped down a flight of stairs, etc. Warranty excludes shipping.
